CTX Service-Learning is collection household supply items to be donated to Foundation Communities. Foundation Communities is one of our service partners. They help provide affordable housing as well as additional resources and services to Austin-area families. Due to Covid-19, some residents are having difficulties getting basic necessities.
Listed below are items requested specifically by Foundation Communities.

- Hand & body soap
- Toothpaste & toothbrushes
- Toilet Paper
- Feminine hygiene products
- Face masks (disposable or reusable)
- Hand Sanitizer
- Dish Soap
- Paper Towels
- Cleaning Supplies (multi surface sprays, toilet cleaner, sponges, etc.)
- Laundry detergent (liquid preferred)
*All items should be new and in sealed packaging.
Drop-off bins will be located in Building C, downstairs by the Service-Learning table, as well as at the library entrance. We will be collecting items Monday, September 14, through Friday, September 25. Feel free to drop off items anytime during those two weeks. Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
